E. 18 How to Go From a Gamer to a Spartan Beast with Miguel Medina

Play

Welcome to Episode 18 of the Obstacle Order,

In this episode Elijah sits down with Miguel Medina.  This is part one of a two part series with Spartan Pro Miguel Medina.  You will learn Miguel’s back story and how he went from barely being able to walk to winning Spartan Races.  Miguel shares his motivational story of how he got off of the couch and learned how to “level up” in life.  As a former avid gamer Miguel used to spend the majority of his time in front of a screen rather that out in the world improving his fitness.

The future of the sport of OCR is also discussed here.  Should the organizers of Spartan officially split up the world championships into it’s respective distances; sprint, super and beast?  What would the implications of that be?

We all have our excuses and reasons to sit on our ass.  What you can take away from this episode is that one man with congenital sever spinal stenosis overcame that obstacle.  Even after surgery and an unfortunate staph infection Miguel found the motivation to become a beast.  Now he take time to inspire other and lives an extraordinary life.

Please listen and share this podcast! It’s a great story and I think many could be inspired by what Miguel has accomplished despite difficult circumstances.
